I hope this letter finds you well. It's been a while since we last spoke, and I hope that settling in hasn't proved to be more challenging than easy.
I've decided to be more diligent with my training. From now on, I'll be waking up early in the morning to do some exercises, and I'll also practice my swordsmanship before work. After work, I'll be doing the same. You're more than welcome to join me, because I believe we can learn from each other.
Please feel free to write back as a response, or if you find it more convenient, send me a telepathic message.
I don't work much in the evenings as there's little call for couriers then. I can join you on any weekday evening of your choosing. Ideally we could arrange a time for regular meetings?
How about meeting every Dute and Tetre? Of course, it's still very flexible. If your friends would like to do something with you on those evenings, we can always do it another time.
Eh? You've been stuck in bed too? Do you want me to bring you anything? I'm fine now, the dizzy spells and headaches are over. I can move around more, so if you want me to go out and get you anything...
Oh I was just tired, that's all. I did a lot of magickal fighting, and that's draining at times. You're more than welcome to come visit, but really I'm fine.
Why? Well, I had to keep up certain emotions to get through to Elios, and I was using dunamis to, umm, make them stronger and keep it going all that time. Turns out hating for hours and being aligned to the Arehtei fighting him isn't really good for the body!
[ There's a humoured, heh heh, kind of feeling in there. The emotional whiplash going on wasn't fun. ]
But I wouldn't have been able to concentrate without you and everyone dealing with the obstacles he was throwing out, so thanks. You really helped us out a lot through all of this, Penelo.
Oh yeah. That's...more or less what laid me out, but most of it was the Espers, and me just directing their hate.
[At least she doesn't have to hide them around Red, or her connection. It's good, having that connection.]
As for that, you know...I was just doing the right thing. I don't really understand dunamis, or how it works, but I know how to run interference. I'm just glad it's over and it wasn't any worse for the people here.
We'll need to do what we can to make sure we can send him more hate than love, but as long as we do that, we should be fine. I know the centre plans to run some sessions again to get people to help with that.
[ He wants to be optimistic! He does! ]
The Espers, they're all like that hating thing we used in the mountains, right? [ He's not good with that name. Cu? Cthulhu? ] You don't happen to be able to summon anything that's just a normal monster?
[ He vaguely remembers there being a deal about the hate guy, and the reason he was forced to serve Penelo. ]
[He ... Uh. Might have waited a few extra days before checking in on Penelo. The last week and a bit being a whirl of activity not only for him but the whole island. He didn’t come out unscathed like a lot of people and had been spending most of his time trying to fix the damage to NORA house and working on the ice pillars with Snow.
It didn’t mean Penelo wasn’t on his mind though. After waking up from a warm nap with her wrapped up on her couch after a make out session kissing her and then leaving that same day feeling light headed he had a lot of questions to ask himself. Especially after hearing the opinions going around the island about how Elios’ influence made everyone act that way.
So with a tentative flutter of uneasiness he pings her amulet.]
[To tell the truth, Penelo had been more or less waiting for him to come to her, because she just wasn't sure he'd want to see her. But when she hears his call, she immediately answers, sitting bolt upright, surprise and curiousity flooding through the amulet.]
I am. Sorry I haven't been in touch. Things got really, really hectic fighting Elios. And I slept most of the last week.
[Well... Damn. That's even worse. He should have checked in days ago. What if she had been hurt?]
If you need anything...
[He sort of trails off.]
When the evacuation happened I spent most of my time helping people get out. Almost landed myself in one of those tar pits and got roughed up by some birds, but our house got more damage than I did.
It's fine, Noel. I'm actually okay. I was worried about you, and I fought to keep everyone safe. I wasn't even hurt.
[In danger? Yes. But not hurt.]
That said. I sort of put off calling you because I wasn't sure how you felt about what...happened that day. I feel like I should come clean about it, myself though.

Dear Weiss,
Thank you for your very kind letter.
I'd enjoy meeting with you and training.
What time are you finished with work?
With regards,
Penelo

Penelo,
I'm free from 6PM onwards on weekdays. My Saturdays are mostly free, unless I'm doing a task with somebody. Sundays are the busiest as I do groceries.
Do let me know your schedule so we can plan accordingly.
Sincerely,
Weiss.

Penelo,
That's perfect.

[ah well. he supposes this is what happens when there are no cell phones on this world]
This is your monthly check-up call from the Shingle Inspector's Association. I'm phoning to inform you that you haven't met your quota yet.
[but it's only the 2nd??]
no subject
Is that so? I haven't been on duty since the attack. But I suppose an inspection is in order. Are you having trouble with your shingles?
no subject
Nope. Mine are in perfect working order. Yours, on the other hand. . .
[he trails off, smile evident in his voice]

[Really she should just put a trap door on her roof.]
no subject
You won't hear me stomping around on your roof and threaten me with a staff again, will you?
no subject
[You know...because that's how normal people do it.]
no subject
[who needs "normal," honestly]
. . . but for today, I should probably suck it up and use the door.
[his leg's still bothering him a bit, and Boss already scolded him about letting it heal. so! no rooftops for him]

Penelo? Hey, it's Red! I wanted to check up on you now that everything's getting back to normal.
[ Kinda, sorta... also wow buddy you waited a long time. ]

Hey Red. I'm alright. No harm done, just a little tired. What about you? I was going to call but getting out of bed was hard.
[...Lazy.]

I am. Sorry I haven't been in touch. Things got really, really hectic fighting Elios. And I slept most of the last week.

No- there's nothing to be sorry about. I- ... You were fighting Elios with the others? Are you alright?

[Not really sure what else to say there. She does bob her head, and smile weakly.]
What about you? Any problems? I heard things were crazy, and I hope you weren't hurt.
